What is PPPoE & How is it Used by DSL ISPs?
PPPoE: Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet

PPPoE is a specification for connecting multiple computer users on an Ethernet local area network to a remote site through common customer premises equipment, which is the telephone company's term for a modem and similar devices.

PPPoE is a specification for connecting the users on an Ethernet to the Internet through a common broadband medium, such as a single DSL line.
RAS-PPPoE is a PPPoE implementation for Windows 95, 98, 98SE, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, XP and Server 2003 by Robert Schlabbach.

This is a PPP over Ethernet (short: PPPoE) implementation for Microsoft Windows®.
